Free vs. paid tickets
Ralley supports both free and paid tickets, and you can offer a mix of both within the same event. Here’s how each one works.
Free tickets
Free tickets are available on all plan types. Setting a ticket price to zero means attendees can register without entering any payment details. The registration flow is the same as paid tickets, so you still get a full record of who has signed up and each attendee receives a booking ID.
Free tickets are a good fit for community events, internal sessions or any event where the barrier to entry should be as low as possible.
Paid tickets
Paid tickets require a Standard or Premium plan. You set the price per ticket type and Ralley applies a ticket processing fee of 4.5% + $1 per ticket on top of that price. The service charge is shown to attendees at checkout before they complete their purchase, so there are no surprises.
Payment processing is handled securely through Stripe. Ralley does not store or process card details directly.
Mixing free and paid tickets
You can offer multiple ticket types within a single event, including a combination of free and paid options. For example, you might offer a free general admission ticket alongside a paid VIP ticket. Each ticket type is set up separately during the Tickets step of the creation flow.
Refunds on paid tickets
If an attendee requests a refund, your refund policy applies. Ralley requires all organisers to meet minimum refund standards. Ralley’s service fees are non-refundable even when a ticket refund is issued. For full details read the Organiser Refund Policy.
