Online vs. in-person vs. hybrid events
Ralley supports three event formats. Here’s what each one means and when to use them.
In person
The event takes place at a physical venue. Attendees show up on the day with their booking ID to get in. During the creation flow you’ll add the venue address, which will appear on your event page along with a map.
Best for workshops, seminars, networking sessions and any event where being in the room is part of the value.
Online
The event runs virtually. There’s no physical venue, so instead of an address you’ll provide access details for attendees to join. Online events are surfaced to attendees regardless of their location, giving you a broader potential audience.
Best for webinars, remote learning sessions and events where geography shouldn’t be a barrier to attendance.
Hybrid
The event runs both in person and online at the same time. You’ll add a venue address for those attending in person, and provide access details for those joining remotely. Hybrid events give your audience flexibility in how they participate.
Best for events where you want to accommodate both a local audience and people who can’t make it in person.
Changing your format after publishing
Your event format can be updated from your event dashboard if something changes. Ralley will automatically notify registered attendees by email if the format is updated after they’ve registered.
