Creating and managing a community

Here’s how to get a community up and running on Ralley and keep it active over time.

What you’ll need

Creating a community requires either a Standard or Premium subscription plan. If you’re on the Free plan, head to Plans in your account menu to upgrade before getting started.

Creating a community

Select Create from the top navigation and choose the option to create a community. You’ll be guided through setting up your community name, description, industry and any other relevant details. A clear name and description helps the right people find and follow your community.

Setting up your community page

Your community page is what members and potential followers see. Make sure your description clearly communicates who the community is for and what members can expect. Add a cover image and any other details that reflect the focus of your group.

Managing membership

As a community organiser you have visibility over your members. You can manage who is part of your community and keep track of your membership base from your community page.

Posting updates

Keep your community active by posting updates, announcements or relevant content to your community page. Regular activity gives members a reason to stay engaged and signals to new visitors that the community is worth following.

Running events as a community

Events can be associated with your community, but only organisers with the appropriate permissions can create events on behalf of a community. This keeps your event activity connected to your community page and makes it easy to build a consistent audience over time.

Editing your community

You can update your community details at any time from the community page. Select the edit option to make changes to your name, description, cover image or other settings.
