Managing a waitlist
If your event has limited capacity, a waitlist gives interested attendees a way to stay in line if a spot opens up. Here’s how it works on Ralley.
Enabling a waitlist
You can enable a waitlist when setting up your ticket types during the creation flow. If your event sells out, attendees will be given the option to join the waitlist rather than simply being turned away.
How the waitlist works
When a registered attendee cancels their registration, a spot becomes available. Ralley will notify the next person on the waitlist so they can complete their registration. The spot is not held indefinitely, so waitlisted attendees should act quickly when they receive a notification.
Viewing your waitlist
You can see who is on the waitlist from the Attendees tab on your event page. This gives you visibility over how much demand exists beyond your current capacity.
Increasing capacity
If demand is strong and your venue or format allows for it, you can increase your ticket limit from the event page. Head to the ellipsis menu and select Edit to update your ticket settings. Any increase in capacity may allow waitlisted attendees to register automatically.
A few things worth knowing
Not all events need a waitlist. For free or low-demand events it may not be necessary. For popular or capacity-limited events it’s a good way to make sure every spot gets filled and no one misses out unnecessarily.
